17-year-old Indie Prodigy AVIV Releases Music Video for New Single “Running Shoes”
17-year-old indie prodigy AVIV has released a new single titled “Running Shoes” which she explains “represents an escape. [Running Shoes] symbolize a gateway to comfort and sanity. In this case, to someone who provides these amenities. It’s the impulsive desire to just put your shoes on and run to safety.” The new single is joined by a music video today, directed by Ryan Faist also known as the artist boy wonder.
“Running Shoes” is her third video in partnership with Faist, following “Blue Eyed Boy” which portrays the evolution of a 300-day rollercoaster relationship, and “Jimmy’s House” about the anxiety caused by physical distance. This year, she toured North America with joan and Hariette. In 2022, she released her debut EP, Drowning in the Culture, available on DSPs and vinyl here. A culmination of work put together during the complexity of life experienced in the pandemic, it tackles issues of social isolation, depression, technology, love, and heartbreak. In support, she toured across Canada with Imagine Dragons, and opened for Giant Rooks, Isaac Dunbar, and K.Flay; played POP Montreal, ZONA Music Festival, and M for Montreal.
