Leanne Hoffman Shares New Video, Announces Canadian Tour Dates
Halifax-based multi-disciplinary artist Leanne Hoffman announces upcoming Fall tour dates in support of her sophomore album, The Text Collector (via Venue Records, distributed by Fontana North.)
“With this new album comes a new live show, and I am so excited to perform these songs in a format that I’ve never done before,” says Leanne. “It’s also given me the opportunity to pair up with some of my favourite songwriters throughout Atlantic Canada, including Nicole Ariana and Noah Malcolm. I love these songs, and I can’t wait to play them for everyone.”
The tour dates kick off with an amazing Halifax show on October 5th at the Marquee Ballroom with Aquakultre and special guests Taryn Kawaja, T. Thomason, and Dana Beeler.
In conjunction with the tour announcement, Leanne shares a brand new live performance video for her song “Emily.”
“The song is about wishing you were closer to someone you love.” Leanne continues, “It’s about wanting to be needed, wanting to be able to offer something to a relationship, and feeling like you can’t bridge the gap.”
The song was co-written with fellow East Coast artist Carleton Stone, and Jeff Miller and Charlie Benoit created the video.
With an ambitious goal to create a project using multiple art forms, Leanne has successfully accomplished just that. What started out as a daily poetry experiment led to an album, followed by a variety of colourful music videos for such singles as “Portuguese Tarts” and “Pity Party,” to an official book of poetry and various complimentary art pieces.
“I wanted to create something for all the creative parts of me. All of these components are connected through my love for creation, and I love sharing that love with other people,” says Leanne.
