Toronto-based singer-songwriter, Oliver James Brooks, is thrilled to announce his third studio album, In A Little Long While, which will be available on November 24. Today the single “Technologically Stoned” and its accompanying video make their debut, here at Canadian Beats Media.
“Technologically Stoned” is an alt-folk-rock track inspired by the growing dependency on technology, and what that does to the general public in daily life and social settings. Living in a large city Brooks takes advantage of public transit to get to work, and it’s become increasingly difficult to not notice how the majority of people are stuck staring down at their phones.
“The fact that our world is becoming more and more reliant on tech is scary, and I think it’s reached a point where it does more harm than good,” expressed Oliver. “I make a conscious effort to never look down at my phone while on transit, but if you choose to, I hope it’s because you’re watching the music video that goes along with this song.”
