Care to introduce yourself to our readers?
We are four guys from the lower mainland of BC Canada just rocking out in the best way we know how! Shawn Meehan (Lead guitar and lead vox) Jay Wittur (bass and bg vox) Karl Oystensen (keyboards and bg vox), and Rod Senft (Drums).
Tell us a bit about your most recent release.
We had been approached by our label to do an ep after the warm reception of our debut album. We originally agreed to record three songs. “Someone To Lean On,” “Here Comes The Devil,” and an acoustic version of “Find a Better Way.” (The lead single from our debut album, The Brotherhood)
Where do you tend to pull inspiration from when writing?
2 of the 3 songs were part of the sessions from the debut album but we hadn’t finished them yet when it was time to release. So they got carried over to the new EP. The label also asked us to do an acoustic version of the lead single from the debut album. At the last minute, The label pushed us for one more song so we went into the rehearsal hall and started from scratch. We thought we’d write a tribute to our favorite national pastime, Hockey! Hence BARNBURNER (hockey song) came to life. We’re so glad they pushed us because now it’s the first single from the new 4-song EP called “When the Levee Breaks” available on all platforms Dec 20/23 but the pre-save link is available now!
Do you have any upcoming shows you’d like to tell us about?
Yes! Sept 15 at the Roxy in Vancouver and opening for Darby Mills on Dec 8 in Vancouver (details coming soon)
What’s your goal for 2023?
Since the new single is a hockey theme song we plan on playing at every possible hockey game in North America!
