Multi-platinum Juno-nominated Artist and Producer, elijah woods Releases New EP, bright orange everglow In Celebration of his Fiance’s Birthday
Multi-platinum, 4x JUNO Award-nominated artist elijah woods released his newest EP, bright orange everglow independently on August 20 in honour of his fiancée’s birthday. Romantically nostalgic, the 5 song EP gives listeners a more stripped-back and honest look at woods’ songwriting and a glimpse into his life and journey in finding love.
The focus track, “last girl”, was co-written with Jack LaFrantz (Imagine Dragons, Benson Boone, Martin Garrix & JVKE) and Jason Suwito (Imagine Dragons, Banners, Fitz & The Tantrums).
Track 1: “if you want love”
“The first thing i ever said to my now fiancé was ‘y do u look familiar’ via Instagram DM. it was so corny and non-inventive, but it was the start of the most important relationship in my life. “if you want love” begins with the experience of me sending that first message, following the timeline to the moment i fell in love.”
Track 2: “where we’re going”
“where we’re going” is about the feeling of knowing that everything will be alright as long as you have that one person by your side.”
Track 3: “24/7, 365”
““24/7, 365” is a love ballad with elevated production at a lighthearted, fun pace. The lyrics reflect the feeling of being in love with someone and thinking about them every hour of every day. the song felt special from the first moment Matt (co-writer) sang me the melody-it had that instant ear-wormy quality. the lyrics finished themselves within the hour, and all in all was a very fun rewarding song to write.”
Track 4: “fish on your line”
“this song genuinely just felt great from the first lyric. the words ‘fish on your line’ seemed like such an honest, homey way to describe my feeling of absolute surrender to my emotions.”
Track 5: “last girl”
“last girl is a song about the moment i knew i had found the person i wanted to be with forever. the lyrics are verbatim a day in august that i’ll remember forever.”
