Le Winston Band is a one-of-a-kind Quebec ensemble that blends its French-Canadian roots with Zydeco and Cajun music. Since 2012, the band has been all over spreading its joie de vivre in Canada and Europe, through a sound that fuses the rich Louisiana musical tradition with original compositions.
In 2022, the five musicians united with producer Erik West-Millette and recorded Winston Express, a new record of original material, released in February 2023.
Le Winston Band is playing at the Amphitheatre on Friday, August 18 at 8:00 pm and another showcase at Down By The Bay on Saturday.

First off, care to introduce yourself to our readers?
We are Le Winston Band, from Montreal: we play a mix of zydeco and Cajun music and Quebecois trad and rock.
Tell us a bit about your most recent release.
Winston Express is a train that travels from Montreal to Louisiana, it features eleven original songs which will make you dance and free your mind.
You’re set to play Summerfolk in Owen Sound, Ontario on the weekend of August 18-20. Is this your first time performing at the festival? If so, have you ever attended?
Yes, it is our first time performing at Summerfolk, and we have never attended before. We are very excited to discover this folk festival!
With a stellar lineup, who are you excited to check out at the fest?
Angelique Francis: we saw her twice in Chicoutimi and once in Kansas City, and it blew our minds! We are excited to check out her show again.
For someone who has yet to see you perform live, describe your performance in 3 words.

When you think of a summer festival, like Summerfolk, what’s the first thing that comes to mind that you want to check out, other than the music?
We are excited to attend the camping afterparties.
