Brett Kissel released the lead track from his West Album – “Missin’ You In San Antone” and announced his CCMA Awards nominations
On July 28, multi-PLATINUM, JUNO Award-winning artist Brett Kissel unveiled his new single “Missin’ You In San Antone,” the lead track from the third installment of The Compass Project, West Album. This track is an upbeat, country-swing number with incredible instrumental accompaniment that details the story of a lost love and hopes of reigniting an old flame. The song brilliantly showcases the classic fiddle strings played by Tyler Vollrath, a recipient of the esteemed CCMA Hall of Honour award and a long-standing band member of over two decades.
Kissel spoke of the new single, saying,
“I’ve been in love with what we’d call ‘classic country swing’ since forever. I’ve always wanted to write and record something that sounded like a George Strait song. The melody, the captivating fiddle and piano, and the way it all comes together with lyrics that tell the classic story of yearning for a lost love – that’s quintessential, heartfelt, toe-tappin’, classic country … and that is “Missin’ You in San Antone.””

Fans can anticipate the release of West Album, the third installment of The Compass Project, later this fall. This “super-country” album, with its first western-swing single, truly highlights the immense talent of both Kissel’s band and Kissel himself.
Brett Kissel has been nominated for the TD Aeroplan Visa Fans’ Choice and Male Artist of the Year at the 2023 CCMA Awards.
