BC Country Star Raquel Cole Releases Personal New Single, “All To Yourself” With A Beatlesesque Twist

Labelled by American Songwriter Magazine as “a dynamite vocalist, songwriter, and guitar slinger to boot,” Vernon, BC’s Raquel Cole returns with a sassy new single, “All To Yourself.”

Raquel drew inspiration from her own experiences in a new relationship while writing the song. Lyrically, “I want me all to yourself” is a brazen play on words to say you don’t want your crush’s heart wandering. Musically, Raquel paid homage to the style of The Beatles.

“Musically is where I spent the most time messing around with the song, trying to mirror the way The Beatles would often use a lot of interesting chord changes while still keeping it very melodic and easy to listen to,” she says.

Raquel Cole has been singing and writing songs since acquiring her first guitar at the age of nine.  She was inspired by hit songs she heard on the radio from artists like Shania Twain and Bryan Adams, but also from jamming to ’70s rock and roll with her dad in the basement of their home. After graduating high school, Cole had planned to go on to study jazz guitar but instead followed her passion for songwriting with a move to Nashville.

In 2017, CBC named Raquel as one of the “25 under 25 musicians everyone needs to know,” alongside Alessia Cara and Shawn Mendes. Cole is a CCMA Award recipient, winner of an American Songwriting Magazine lyric contest, and was featured in USA Today as their exclusive “Playlist” pick. Cole has also found success writing for other artists and claimed her first Billboard Top 10 Country Album charting song recorded by superstar Marie Osmond. She has opened for the likes of Carrie Underwood, Brothers Osborne, Scotty McCreery, and Josh Turner.

Compelled to always be creating, Raquel continues to write and record, but her heart belongs on the road. Look for Raquel this summer on some of Canada’s biggest stages, including Boots & Hearts on August 12 (Oro-Medonte, Ontario) and Denim on the Diamond on September 2 (Kelowna, BC).
