Aaron Goodvin unveils his new single, “Country Dance” + 5Qs ZOOM Interview

Aaron Goodvin

Alberta-born, Nashville-based Aaron Goodvin has unveiled his new single “Country Dance” (Sakamoto Music/Warner Music Canada). Goodvin is hoping to prove once again that even if he can’t dance, he can certainly create a dance craze, like his previous single, “Lonely Drum.”  Goodvin’s wholehearted embrace of the void of grace from his foot movement was, in fact, the inspiration for “Country Dance,” which he co-wrote with Catt Gravitt and Skip Black, the same creative force behind “Lonely Drum.”

“Often I would imagine how cool it would be to have a sort of sequel to ‘Lonely Drum,’ and every time I would write with Catt and Skip, that thought lurked in the back of my mind,” says Goodvin. “‘Country Dance’ began to emerge while joking around about the fact that I can’t even do the ‘Lonely Drum’ line dance, one of the most popular line dances out there. One of my favorite things about writing this song was we didn’t even figure out what the title would be until we got to the end of the chorus.”

As he ventures into uncharted territory once again, Goodvin’s infectious spirit and genuine enthusiasm shine through in “Country Dance.” The song not only showcases his signature blend of modern country and gritty soulful vocals but also reveals his ability to find humor in his own quirks. By embracing his limitations and inviting fans to join him on the dance floor, Goodvin aims to create a lighthearted and joyful atmosphere that resonates with listeners on a personal level.
