First off, care to introduce yourself to our readers?
My name is Fame Holiday I’m a Hip Hop & R&B recording artist from Mississauga. I started making music at a very young age just 14 and ever since then it’s been history music is my life. It’s my way of expressing myself and making a positive change in the world while inspiring others to believe in themself, work hard and go after their dreams because it’s worth it in the end. Not enough people do what makes them happy and I’m trying to change that narrative.
Tell us a bit about your recent release.
My most recent single release is titled “Letter To My Dad.” This song is me sharing my story about meeting my dad for the very first time when I was 23. Growing up my whole life without him wasn’t easy but giving him another chance to make things right was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made because now we have a great relationship. I’ve learned so much about my other half of the family and my roots also connected with my amazing siblings I never knew I had. There are so many people who don’t have the best relationship with their dad or might not even grow up with one, I want to give people the courage to work on those relationships try to forgive, and understand people make mistakes nobody’s perfect and life is short. Letter to my dad is a timeless record.
You’re set to play Rock The Coliseum in Mississauga. Have you played at this festival before?
Yes my first time was last year and it was such a great experience performing in my hometown Mississauga will always be something special to me. It doesn’t matter where in the world I perform the love in sauga hits differently because that’s where everything started for me.
For someone who has yet to see you perform live, describe your performance in 5 words or less.
Inspiring, entertaining, unpredictable, High energy, and an unforgettable experience!
With an incredible Canadian lineup, who are you hoping to check out during the fest?
To be honest everyone there’s so much talent from all across the GTA seeing everyone come together for this event is exciting! I can’t wait to see every artist shine bringing their own style to the stage. I enjoy watching performances the same way most people enjoy watching sports.
What’s your favourite thing about being a musician in Ontario?
I would say my favourite thing is just knowing one day I’m going to be a part of so much history most of the artists that blow up out of Canada are international superstars just to name a few Drake, The Weeknd, Justin Bieber, and Tory Lanez. I’m proud to be from Canada and everywhere I go I make sure I represent. I see myself being just as big as them one day if not bigger and I mean that in the most humble way.
Do you have any other festivals or shows to tell us about?
Since the year started I’ve been traveling a lot outside of the city doing performances in New York, Amsterdam, Los Angeles, and Vancouver, so it’s nice to finally be doing a show again in my hometown. It’s long overdue! After this event I will be opening up for a big artist named Lil Pump, joining his Canadian tour that’s happening in September.
What’s up next for you in 2023?
A lot more music. I will be releasing a full R&B project titled “Temporary Love Part 2,” and announcing my first headlining US Tour!
