Adam Ruzzo

Artist: Adam Ruzzo
Album: The Waters That Bind
Release Date: July 13, 2023
Genre: Folk

Canadian troubadour Adam Ruzzo is an avid wanderer of the many quiet corners of Canada.

Adam unveiled his nine-song release, The Waters That Bind on July 13, featuring the single, “Half Lit,” and following the previous album, The Land, The Sea, The People, which was released in 2022.

The album opens with the serene instrumental piece, “Sparkling Waters,” which I highly recommend you take the time to listen to.

Next up, “Northern Mystery” begins with an upbeat vibe, which levels out some once the vocals begin, about 35 seconds in. The intro of the song conveys a sense of determination as they give notice to their boss, leaving behind the comforts they once knew and embracing the unknown path ahead with smiles on their faces. From there the lyrics paint a vivid picture of the character’s journey, immersing the listener in their experiences.

“Faded Feathers” really caught my attention on the album. It tells the story of a man named Andy who made a big decision to leave his simple life in search of wealth and beautiful women. However, as time goes on, he starts missing the peacefulness he left behind. The chorus perfectly captures the essence of Andy’s journey, expressing his longing for a simpler life and his deep connection to the faded feathers and dream catcher on his arm. It’s a song that showcases Adam’s talent for writing and storytelling, and it shines brightly on this track.

Overall, The Waters That Bind is an album that highlights Adam’s captivating storytelling and musical talent. It combines lively melodies and introspective tunes to create a perfect blend of energy and reflection. The result is an emotionally powerful musical journey that will resonate with listeners.
