Tonight, the dreadful weather didn’t prevent Les Francos from ending on a high note!
We started the evening at Studio TD with Moncton rockers Les Hôtesses d’Hilaire! Our last coverage of the band in Montreal dated from 2017 (at M for Montreal), but the band aged like fine wine. Still just as fun, with more of a rock edge, the show was a real upbeat treat!
Afterwards, we put on our rain jackets and headed to the main outdoor stage. Despite the torrential rain, thousands of fans showed up for the closing show by legendary Quebec singer Robert Charlebois. And he gave the love right back to the audience, with a generous and colourful performance! Despite nearing his eighties, the singer rocked the stage with the pep of the young rocker he once was. The show was a ray of sunshine, that made festival goers forget about the weather for a minute. Tonight was the most beautiful way to close yet another successful edition of Les Francos! It’s now time of Montrealers to rest up for a few days, until the International Jazz Festival kicks off at the end of next week!
