Like A Motorcycle

Like A Motorcycle descends into sunny nihilism on new single, “I Think I Like It?”

LIKE A MOTORCYCLE is a full frontal attack to a soundtrack. Like A Motorcycle is an onslaught of erratic queers and one, very, patient man. Like A Motorcycle deals in emotionally laden themes held tightly behind the shield of snotty petulance. Like A Motorcycle could beat you up but would rather fix you dinner. Like A Motorcycle are the friends you never asked for. Like A Motorcycle has released their brand new single, “I Think I Like It?”

“I Think I Like It?” is about soft-hearted people refusing to take on more damage from the onslaught of this hard, unrelenting world. Recorded with Tim Jim Baker and produced by Like A Motorcycle, the track addresses the feeling of participating in an endless, rigged game of poker; being dealt increasingly bad cards, and deciding to celebrate your own personal absurdities and downfalls instead of folding. It’s a song about fully descending into sunny nihilism and grinning the entire way.

The new standalone single acts as a bridge track for the Halifax foursome – an offering to their fans to officially introduce the newest incarnation of the band’s lineup (which now includes Clare Macdonald of Hillsburn on drums) and a means to set the table for a forthcoming LP produced by Howard Redekopp (Mother Mother, Tegan and Sara), which is slated for release in early 2024.
