It was about damn time Lizzo brought her The Special 2our to Montreal’s Bell Center! After the show getting postponed at the last minute on May 4th due to illness, it goes without saying that the fans were waiting for this one.
After an opening set by DJ Von (as initial opener Latto was also ill), the crowd got hyped as the clock neared 9pm. Lizzo made a show-stopping entrance, to the sounds of the powerful Cuz I Love You, and then jumping straight into massive banger Juice. Kicking off with those two songs has normally been reserved for her festival setlist, but it seems she wanted to make the Montreal set extra special to make up for the cancellation. With a setup full of colourful screens and even more colourful costumes, the show was a treat for the eyes! And for the ears too, as she belted through so many of her hits like Good As Hell, About Damn Time and Rumors. The show was full of contagious energy, good vibes and unapologetic twerking. Needless to say, it was worth the extra wait, and left the audience in a party mood to close out the week!
