Valley, Aidan Bisset
Hollywood Theatre, Vancouver, BC
May 23, 2023
On Tuesday, Canadian indie pop band Valley brought their Lost In Translation tour to a sold-out Hollywood Theatre in Vancouver, BC.
The evening started with Devon Cole, who we sadly missed, and Aidan Bisset who charmed the crowd with his pop-rock tracks and relatable lyrics. Fans gifted him 2 rubber ducky – a running gag I believe – who took their rightful place on stage for the duration of the set.
Around 9:30 pm, the screens on the side of the stage became alive, showing old TV clips and footage of the band members. Then Rob Laska, Mickey Brandolino, Alex Dimauro, and Karah James appeared one-by-one on stage through a velvet curtain under the screams of the crowd. Valley started their show with “There’s Still A Light In The House,” “Throwback Tears,” and “Lost In Translation.” Throughout the set, band members sometimes exchanged instruments or took the microphone, showcasing their versatility. They wrapped the show with “Paper Cup (Sorry For Myself)” and “Hiccup.”
With their growing popularity and amazing live performance, I can see how Valley will soon be playing in bigger venues in the close future.
