Trevor Davies releases latest single, “microdose”

Trevor Davies tells the whole world to “microdose” their consumption with new single

There’s a nice juxtaposition to the light indie jazz single “microdose,” by Trevor Davies. As laid-back, but jumpy piano chords are greeted by warm bass and the occasional slide guitar line, Trevor repeats the line (in what could be called a John Mayer cadence) “microdose, my friend, and make some friends.”

Lyrically, the song could be taken at face value, about consuming drugs in moderation to actually be aware of and enjoy your surroundings/situation, but it can also be about microdosing our consumption of, well, everything, as a species living on a spinning rock, slowly being depleted of its resources.

“At the heart of our destruction of ourselves, our environment, and our relationships with one another, is our greed and gluttony … We would also have a better time here on Earth if we weren’t so insane, competitive, power-drunk and acquisitive,” Trevor Davies says.

“microdose,” is a breath of fresh air in this world of maximalist pop music; a perfect example of tight, yet human musicianship played with almost a live jazz band feel and a message we can all grab onto.

The single is also announcing Trevor Davies upcoming double LP, Revisionsout June 2—thematically about the corrections, and hopefully, improvements, the human race is undertaking day after day.
