LASSO unveils “Lasso in the City” lineup!

LASSO Montréal presented by Bell in collaboration with Coors Original is fast approaching, and the country music extravaganza will be kicking off in style with LASSO in the city, hosted by SiriusXM, on Friday August 17th at MTELUS.

Riding high on the immense success of last year’s inaugural edition, this year LASSO in the City has expanded with a stellar line up featuring 3 of the most talented country acts from the great white north.

Fans who were in attendance at last year’s LASSO might remember the electrifying performance by Ontario’s James Barker Band on the big outdoor stage who mixed in a little Rage Against The Machine and Maroon 5 to their performance, turning up the energy to 11. The group, who have multiple No. 1 singles and hundreds of millions of global streams under their belt will be taking the stage at MTELUS for another searing set.

Pickering’s Griffen Palmer will also be on hand to wow the crowd with his catchy take on hot country. The Big Loud recording artist made a name for himself by winning NBC’s Songland, with a special version of his ballad, “Second Guessing”, which was performed and released by Florida Georgia Line. Griffen’s first time performing a proper show for an audience was at last year’s LASSO, so this is an exciting return to the source and his debut album, Unlearn, is out on April 28th.

Moreover, this Friday, LASSO ambassador, Brittany Kennell, is releasing her brand new single, “Together We’re Rich”, much to the delight of her dedicated fan base. Hailing from la belle province, the singer/songwriter was an easy choice for this year’s festival ambassador, and she’s preparing a high energy set for LASSO in the City. Born in Beaconsfield, a suburb of Montreal, Brittany has been an absolute force in country music since her debut, capturing the hearts of millions as a contestant on The Voice (team Blake Shelton), however, her connection to Canada and her hometown are stronger than steel! She hopes to turn Montreal into Nashville North, and LASSO Montréal, as well as LASSO in the City, are a clear indication that Montrey’all is already Canada’s country capital.

If there was ever a question, Montreal is now most definitely a country music town, and LASSO Montréal has proven to be one of the most exciting country music events in North America. With some of the top talent in country music booked for 2023, this second edition looks to be an even bigger, unforgettable country event. On August 18-19, Montreal’s Parc JeanDrapeau, one of the most picturesque festival sites in North America, will once again be home to a massive get together to celebrate the power of live music! The festival’s second edition will feature some of the hottest acts from the US, as well as incredible talent from our own huge Canadian and Québec backyard! Joining headliners Chris Stapleton and Kane Brown are a variety of exciting acts, carefully curated by the LASSO team to maximize your good time country vibes!

Lasso Montréal will be bringing the country vibes to Parc Jean Drapeau from August 18th to 19th. Tickets go on sale this Friday (March 3rd) at 10 am!
