Dean Brody is kicking off the spring season with the release of his new single “Broke”
With the release of “Broke” on April 14, multi-PLATINUM country artist Dean Brody celebrates the hard-working, blue-collar Canadian. His latest single is an upbeat track that also has Brody honouring the people of the area he grew up in.
“Broke” is written by 2022 ACM Songwriter of the Year Michael Hardy and multi-PLATINUM artist James Barker. It’s the first new single off Brody’s ninth full-length album, coming later this year. It has relatable lyrics and a catchy melody that will resonate with all of Brody’s fans. “Broke” is also reminiscent of tracks like “Cattleman’s Gun” from Brody’s debut album, which is still one of Brody’s most-streamed songs of all time.
Brody shares,
“This new single really hits home for me. I grew up working at the mill during high school with all the other kids doing the same thing – it’s just what we did in my hometown. Everyone worked really hard to make a living and those instilled values are ones I still carry with me today. Hard work is what shaped me and I don’t think I’d be where I am today without those experiences.”
