Phia shares her powerful new single, “Suicide Misson”

Vancouver Island, BC-based artist Phia has unveiled her latest single, “Suicide Mission,” which follows last year’s “Stupid For You.” The track is about the toxicity of social pressure.

Review

Beginning with a melancholy tone, Phia’s earnest yet pleasant vocals intensify the track. Aside from the catchy chorus, the lyrics are serious and deal with heavy subject matter.

The lyrics, “This society we live in, Is more like a prison, Wish I hadn’t been given, This suicidal mission,” packs a powerful punch. The track ends with the lyric, “…dying to fit in.” This in itself is an entirely relatable sentiment.

Overall, “Suicide Mission” speaks of being trapped in the prison of life and the pressure on everyone to be someone their not. The lyrics throughout the track speak to the listener’s personal experience and let them know they are not alone.
