Toronto, ON-based rapper and songwriter Ekelle unveiled her new single, “Flo.”

Hi, I’m Ekelle. I’m an artist from Toronto who raps and sings in my own style called Hood Pop. I like to make a lot of upbeat music.
Tell us a bit about your most recent release.
“Flo” is a sexy track full of big baddie energy. This is my first release since I dropped my album Let’s Get It last May, so I wanted to shake things up. This track is for those who are or appreciate confident and sensual women with an attitude.
Where do you tend to pull inspiration from when writing?
It comes from so many different places in life. Sometimes it’s something I’ve seen or a situation I’ve been in. Or sometimes, I’ll just be going through my day, and something interesting will pop into my head. I write everything down. Some ideas can make a great song, and some are just a sick bar to use.
Do you have any upcoming shows you’d like to tell us about?
None at the moment, but I keep my socials updated frequently so anyone who wants to can see what I’m up to.
What’s your goal for 2023?
My goal this year is to keep putting out great music and work on some more collaborations. I’ve spent some time refining my sound, and I want to take it to another level.
