Tonight, British band Depeche Mode made their grand return to Montreal with their Memento Mori Tour, named after their 15th album released earlier this year.
On a stage full of lights and colours, and a massive M screen serving as backdrop, the band put on a very visual performance. True to himself, lead singer Dave Gahan danced and pranced around the stage, commanding the sold-out arena with his showman energy. Despite performing in a slightly more reserved manner, the duo’s other half Martin Gore stood front and center, shining with his guitar and keyboard skills.
Depeche Mode have been in the game for many decades now, and despite years passing by (and the trio becoming a duo after Andy Fletcher’s passing last year), the band provided a performance that showed they are more alive than ever, and that their music and live performances truly passed the test of time!
If you missed tonight’s show, or Just Can’t Get Enough, the band will be returning to the Bell Center in November, also stopping by Toronto, Edmonton and Vancouver! Dates, tickets and more info are available on the band’s website.
