Tonight, Lewis Capaldi brought his North American tour to a sold-out Place Bell! It had been 4 years since his last stop in town for a birthday show in 2019, and needless to say he outgrew Olympia by a lot!
Singer-songwriter Em Beihold opened the night in front of a growing audience. Starting at the keyboard and then effortlessly gliding around the stage, Em charmed the crowd and got fans in the mood for the main act!
Shortly after 9pm, Lewis Capaldi and his band hit the stage to a thunder of screams and applause. The Scottish singer recently released an incredible Netflix documentary called How I’m Feeling Now, and started the evening with Forget Me, his hit comeback song that is fully explained in the movie.
The massive stage and minimal setup could have completely swallowed Lewis, but he fully commanded the stage with his unique voice, and of course great stand-up-like interludes, as we also know from his Instagram that he’s hilarious.
Fans belted along to classics like Before You Go, Bruises, Grace, and of course the massive Someone You Loved that closed the evening, leaving fans to head home after a cathartic evening of beautiful, emotional songs. If you want to see it for yourself (which you should), Lewis will be playing in Toronto on April 14th, and Vancouver on the 26th, tickets and more information here.
