Last night, seven-time Grammy Awards winner John Mayer brought his Solo tour to Rogers Arena in Vancouver.
American singer Alec Benjamin opened the night before Mayer arrived on stage. For the first time in Mayer’s 25 years-career, it was just him on stage with guitars, piano, harmonica, and microphone. This allowed for a very intimate evening between Mayer and 15,000 fans where it almost felt like you were watching a friend give a private performance in his backyard. For two hours, Mayer took the audience through decades of older tracks, new material, and a beautiful rendition of Beyonce’s XO; and engaged with them via stories and funny anecdotes.
