Ghost Note – “On and On…” (Single Review)

Ghost Note shares new single, “On and On…”

Ghost Note is a trans artist from Saskatoon, SK. Today marks the release of their brand new single, “On and On…”

They have been relentlessly writing songs since 2010 and producing in Ableton for over five years. Their experiences of gender, art, and mental illness colour their work to make something intimate, poignant, and new.

Ghost Note hopes to bring something to the table that can’t be found elsewhere as a rapper and works to create music that experiments, emotes, and evokes liminal spaces in the listener’s mind. All self-produced, Ghost’s body of work is eclectic, vulnerable, and incredibly prolific.

Review

“On and On…” is a rap track featuring pop elements. The song features a catchy melody and a sing-along chorus that will surely get stuck in your head, “It goes on and on and on and on.”

The bouncy beat throughout the track and Ghost Note’s relaxed rap verses complement each other and show listeners a different side of Ghost Note, as he states on his Instagram that he had to take a break from “ha-ha funtime rap and get in my feels.

Overall, the laid-back vocal delivery and relaxed flow perfectly match the instrumental and create a chill, introspective vibe, perfect for a lazy afternoon, a late-night drive, or anything in between.
