Montreal-based singer-songwriter-producer named Ormiston with a new single, ” Distortion Of Reality,” via Lisbon Lux Records.
The pristine, indie track draws inspiration from the songwriting of the 80s (a la Cindy Lauper) while establishing a more lo-fi, emotive, contemporary sound.
“Distortion Of Reality” marks the beginning of a new era for Ormiston, unveiling a more dramatic and dreamlike sound after his debut album, Hammer Down. Ormiston explores the identity crisis of a young adult, who lives his life unconsciously, without worrying about the harsh realities. The song is a sample of what will be heard on a new album set to be released later this year.
Hey, what’s up? I’m Ormiston, a singer-songwriter from Montreal, QC.
“Distortion Of Reality” is my latest release. It’s my first release in two years and the intro to my second upcoming album, which is still in the works!
I wrote this one on vacation in Los Angeles. I was sitting on this hill, thinking of a friend who lives her life in a very oblivious fashion. I really envy people who don’t have a care in the world. I feel too responsible for all my actions which can be quite a burden sometimes (Laughs!!), haha!
I’ll be playing on the 15th of April at Quai des Brûmes in Montreal, and I have an upcoming show at CMW sometime in June!
I’d love to get a good response for this upcoming record and hopefully tour the hell out of it.
