Ghanaian-Canadian rapper, singer-songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist Kofi announced his forthcoming six-track EP, Just To Piss You Off, which will arrive on Red Bull Records on March 24. The anticipated project is a testament to his artistic depth and sonic evolution, brought to life by the sultry single “Uninvited” and the afro-R&B release “I’m Yours.”
Now he returns with the third song off the package, “Mine,” a raw and effortless cut featuring fellow Canadian rapper, Boslen. Together they capture the harsh truths and internal dilemmas of a toxic relationship with unfiltered lyrics and slick production. Kofi’s mastery in the studio shines through on the infectious rhythms of “Mine,” with Boslen’s experimental stylings providing texture to the emotion.
Kofi shares, “‘Mine’ is a toxic song about the wrong girl. Someone you want but is clearly no good for you.”
Launching alongside the single, the music video for “Mine” paints a picture of what happens when old flames, alcohol, and unrequited love mix. In a sultry bar scene that triggers old memories, Kofi knows what’s best for him, but feelings die hard.
