Tell us a bit about your newest release.
My latest release is Sonic Departures (2020), which was my pandemic project featuring a 13-piece horn section and a 17-piece band. The album features originals and covers with a huge sound and lots of energy, with all of the musicians performing together at the same time. I am now putting the final touches on an album to be released this year with production by Gordie Johnson (Big Sugar), Eric Eggleston, and legendary guest Jimmie Vaughan.
You’ll be playing at Ottawa’s Ice Dragon Boat Festival on Monday. Is this your first time performing at the festival?
I performed at the Dragon Boat festival years ago, a couple of times in the summer, and looking forward to this Winterlude event!
What can people expect from your live performance?
We put on a high-energy show and hope to get people dancing! With Jacob Clarke on upright and electric bass and Will Laurin on drums – we are going to be firing on all cylinders.
