Vancouver Island rock trio, Electric Jane, has just released their self-titled five-song debut EP.
“Enjoy The Show,” although the shortest track on the release, starts the EP with a bang. This is the type of song that will get the crowd riled up and ready to party, which of course, every rock band needs. There is no shortage of high energy with this track, and I would love to see it performed live. There’s no doubt in my mind that the crowd would be belting out the lyrics along with them and exuding just as much energy as the band.
The band shares,
“We love opening our shows with this song, because it starts a fire right from the beginning that will stay lit throughout the entire performance.”
The third track, “Can I Take You Back To Mine?” brings out a lighter side of the band while still showcasing their rock sound. This is the type of track I enjoy most; the lyrics are easy to sing along with, the beat is mellow but rockin’, and husky vocals always pull me in. From the opening lyrics, “You lit a match inside my head, Come make a fire in my bed,” to the chorus, “Can I take you back to mine, Can I take you back to mine,” the lyrics were stuck in my head. It takes a special kind of song full of fun, rhyming, and high energy that can embed itself in your head, and this is that type of song, and I don’t mind at all.
The other three tracks on the release are just as good and showcase other sides of this up-and-coming band.
