Shantaia is back with her single, “Know You,” with music video to follow

Hot off a groundbreaking year in 2022, Nashville-based, Canadian-born artist Shantaia is ready to take 2023 to the next level with her emotion-packed new single “Know You,” available for streaming and at radio now. The hard-hitting track was co-written by Shantaia, Vanessa Marie Carter, and renowned songwriter Paul Sikes (Jimmie Allen, Matt Stell, Lainey Wilson, etc.) and features Shantaia’s fierce vocals interwoven with a captivating chorus and haunting melody.

“This has been a special one for me, and one I truly couldn’t wait to release and was just waiting for the right time. I love how conversational the lyrics are, and how haunting the melody is,” Shantaia shares. “It was one of my favourite ones to record in the studio. I think because it was cool to watch my producer, the players and everyone’s minds, including mine, run wild with the angsty and fierce direction we took it! Anytime I show someone the new music I’ve been working on, this one is a front runner and immediate ear catcher, which really excites me. I can’t wait to see where this song leads me next!”

Shantaia stepped into a new era of her career in early 2022 with the release of “Broke To Brand New,” which garnered over a million streams across platforms and awarded Shantaia her first Top 40 radio hit, peaking at #33 on the Mediabase charts. She continued the momentum throughout the year with her anthem-ready follow-up, “Hung Over You.” She placed as a top three finalist in the SiriusXM Top of the Country competition, showcasing in front of top industry players during the CCMA Country Music Week. Both tracks received critical acclaim from the likes of Taste of Country, CMT, EARMILK, and CBC, among others.

A 5x SaskMusic award and 7x Saskatchewan Country Music award nominee, Shantaia has opened for huge names such as Kane Brown, Chris Lane, Ryan Hurd, Emerson Drive, and Charlie Major and recently went on the Road Back to Cavendish east coast tour with The Washboard Union and Raquel Cole. The 2019 SCMA Emerging Artist has played festivals all over Canada, including Cavendish Beach Music Festival, North by North East, Dauphins Country Fest, Country Thunder Saskatchewan, and because of SaskMusic and Breakout West, Shantaia performed at an official Americana Fest Showcase in 2019 in Nashville.
