The Lovebullies share video for their single, “London 1969”
The Lovebullies fourth studio album, Somewhere, is due for release in early 2023 and was made possible by the Calgary Arts Development Authority.
Lovingly crafted at The National Music Centre with multi-Juno nominated producer Graham Lessard steering the ship, their new album is full-on quintessential Lovebullies! There’s rock, there’s twang, and of course, the ‘Bullies trademark surfadelic stylings with layers of sweet as Alberta sunshine harmonies and plenty of far-out guitar and keys! It features the unique songwriting voices of long-time creative duo Chantal Vitalis and Caroline Connolly, bass player Joni Brent, drummer Paul Jahn, and returning Lovebully Andrea Revel on guitar and background vocals. With a writing collaboration by local chanteuse Emily Triggs, horn arrangements by Steve Pineo, keyboard stylings by Michael Ayotte, and a special secret cameo, this album is a page-turner!
Somewhere is an ode to time and place, space, the healing power of trees, nostalgic longing, hubris, a cautionary tale to heed warning signs, and above all, love.
The Lovebullies are also very excited to release the first single from their album “London 1969,” a writing collaborative between Connolly and Triggs exquisitely executed by The Lovebullies. This nostalgic take on early formative memory is lovingly dedicated to the Moon, the astronauts who traveled there, and the wide-eyed vibe of the 1960s.
