NOVEMBER unveils his single, “PILLOWTALK” ahead of his upcoming EP

Ottawa-born, Montreal-based artist Grégory Yves, aka NOVEMBER has unveiled his single, “PILLOWTALK.”

Taking influence everywhere from modern pop to the alternative sounds of the 80s, he brings you into his world of wild emotion and vivid life.

The single comes from NOVEMBER’s upcoming EP, Sad. Slow. Sexy, which is set for release on November 22, 2022.

Listen to “PILLOWTALK” below and learn more about NOVEMBER via our mini-interview.

First off, care to introduce yourself to our readers?

Hi, I’m NOVEMBER. Artist, creator, and part-time tomb-raider.

You have unveiled your single, “Pillowtalk.” What can you tell us about the writing process behind the track?

The title is really a summation of the entire essence of this track. I wanted it to feel like that moment when you’re in their bed, and it’s just you and them. When you can confess anything because the outside world can’t penetrate the intimacy you’re living in. Writing it felt easy once I leaned into that warm euphoric feeling those images conjure up for me.
The single comes from your upcoming EP, Sad. Slow. Sexy, which is set for release on November 22.

How did you decide to release “Pillowtalk” as a single?

The EP is such a journey, even with six songs, and this just felt like the first point in that journey that felt right to share after not releasing a body of work in a few years. The other song I’m releasing from it beforehand, “Haunt,” is a completely different part of that journey, and I’m excited for people to hear that one too.

What is your favourite thing about the music industry in Montreal?

Just the sense of community between the artists. We all support each other in various big and small ways. We’re in each other’s videos and at each other’s shows. It’s a thing.

What can we expect from you in the remainder of 2022?

This wonderful new set of songs I’m excited for the world to hear, plus some live shows here and there before I try the small festival circuit next summer.
