Courtney Wolfe releases her new indie-pop track, “Sleep a Little Better”

Kitchener, ON-based singer-songwriter Courtney Wolfe has released a vulnerable song about losing herself, “Sleep a Little Better.” She is confident the track will serve to be helpful for anyone who has gone through struggles, regardless of what those struggles are.

“I included metaphors throughout with an easy to follow storyline in order for every listener to be able to relate to it”, Courtney says.

The story is about helping someone who is stuck and later realizing you are the one stuck yourself. Whether you’re struggling with mental health, addiction, the loss of a loved one, or the loss of yourself, Courtney is sure that this song can be a good addition to your healing journey.

I was excited to check out the new release, as I have been a fan of Courtney’s music for quite some time.

This track evokes a truly emotional vibe, with honest, vulnerable lyrics sung in Courtney’s consistently smooth vocals. As with her previous release, “She,” this is another track that I feel many will relate to, and on top of that, it will also aid in the healing of many who need it.

In celebration of the single release, Maxwell’s Waterloo presents Sleep a Little Better Music Night with Courtney Wolfe and special guests – tonight! Tickets are $10 online and $15 at the door.

Listen to “Sleep a Little Better” below and learn more about Courtney Wolfe via our mini-interview.

First off, care to introduce yourself to our readers?

Hey! My name is Courtney Wolfe. I’m a singer/songwriter from Kitchener, Ontario, and have been releasing music since 2019. I started out releasing pop music and have slowly transitioned to a more indie, soft rock genre. I cannot wait to share more music that can hopefully connect with my listeners.

You have unveiled your new single, “Sleep a Little Better” what can you tell us about the writing process and inspiration behind the single?

I wrote “Sleep a Little Better” when I realized I had completely lost myself in the process of loving someone else. I wanted the song to connect with every listener, which is why I added metaphors so it can really be about anything you want. Whether you have struggled with mental health, addiction, or loving and losing another person, I’m very hopeful that everyone can connect with it in some way.

The single follows your previously released track, “She.” When can we expect a new EP or album?

I am hoping for sometime in 2023. I am so excited because this will definitely be a switch-up from my last EP. The genre is completely switching and is a new chapter within my music and life. I am very hopeful that this will also bring in some new listeners and bring back the original ones as well.

You are playing at Maxwell’s Waterloo on July 22. The event is titled “Maxwell’s Waterloo Presents – Sleep A Little Better Music Night. What can fans expect from this show?

People can expect a great night filled with indie music. I am releasing my new single on the same day, and it is celebrating that. I have always wanted to play at Maxwell’s and have always wanted to have a show for one of my releases, so this feels like a dream come true.

What is your main goal for the remainder of 2022?

Right now, I am very confident that I will release my first music video for my next single, title “Already,” hopefully to be released in October 2022. I will also start working on my next project with the new genre of music.
