Toronto, ON-based vibrant Spanish/ Canadian singer-songwriter, William Antony has released a music video for his newest single, “I’m What You Need”. The sensual music video, with Latin flair, was produced and recorded in Toronto and is about self-confidence and love. William expresses a longing for a love that seems to be fleeting and perhaps unattainable.
The video and the song present a strong vocal performance, dancing, and an uplifting mood.
“The story behind the song is very personal. I wrote the song out of heartbreak. It is about a love story that happened last summer. I met someone who told me was in the process of divorce, I was a bit skeptical at the beginning but after she showed lots of interest I moved on, after dating for a while and lots of passion and communication they decided to go back to the marriage even though she is not happy but it is what she knows.”

Care to introduce yourself to our readers?
I’m William Antony, a Spanish / Canadian singer-songwriter who now resides in Toronto, Canada.
I spent my childhood and teenage years performing in Spain. I undertook my vocal training at the prestigious opera house Gran Teatre del Liceu, in Barcelona, which led to my later recording work, in the pop music genre.
Tell us a bit about your music and writing style.
My songs are invested with my life experience; they are imbued with the romance, heartbreak and joy which have shaped my growth as a person.
My taste in music has influenced my artistic style which comprises northern sounds and pop music with a vibrant and passionate Latino flair. I was influenced from an early age by the music of George Michael, Michael Jackson, Marc Anthony, Selena Quintanilla and the pop-rock movement of the 80s.
Do you have any upcoming shows? For someone who has yet to see you live, how would you explain your live performance?
No, because of Covid I do not have any upcoming shows. I like to incorporate my Latino and Spanish roots into my performances, I like to express my passion for life, but even when it is a sad song, I like to bring an uplifting mood to the song. I love to connect with people and have fun, I just love to sing.
If you were asked to suggest only one of your songs for someone to hear, which would it be?
I’m What You Need
Canadian Beats is all about Canadian music, so who are your current favourite Canadian bands/ artists?
Shania Twain and Justin Bieber
