It’s always a satisfying feeling when a song’s title matches its vibe perfectly. Montreal prog-rock duo Tunnel has released a track that does just that with “Super Charged Powerball.”
The song utilizes video game-esque electronic noises along with a jazzy drumbeat, overlapped with sassy, evil-sounding vocals. With these elements blended together, the band has created a truly unique sonic experience.
The song belongs to the brand new record, Out For A While, which was self-recorded by the pair in a remote cottage in the Gaspésie region of Quebec. Since the band was born from a last-minute decision by members François Jalbert and Kevin Warrenhave in 2013, Tunnel has aligned themselves among the premium prog-rock acts in the nation.
