Nashville-based Canadian country star Eric Ethridge dropped two new tracks Thursday, “Dream Girl” and “Gasoline”.
These songs are set to be a part of Ethridge’s upcoming full-length release due out in September.
“Dream Girl” was written by Dan Smyer and Shay Mooney of Dan + Shay and produced by GRAMMY nominee Brian Howes (Hinder, Chris Daughtry, Nickelback).
Ethridge had this to say about what “Dream Girl” means to him:
“From the moment I heard this song, I knew I had to record it. I’m a fan of Dan and Shay’s writing – especially their unique melodies and phrasing. I’ve looked up to them as artists for a long time and I’m grateful to have this song on my record. In the ever-evolving process of finding ways to ‘stand out from the crowd,’ ‘Dream Girl’ was the first song I’ve ever recorded that encompasses the sound I’ve been chasing all this time. It’s powerful, dynamic and it’s a great way to introduce to the world the exciting direction my music is heading in.”

Hi, my name is Max. I’m a journalism student currently on placement here at Canadian Beats. I grew up in the GTA, but I’ve been around Ontario a little bit for school in the past few years. I think in a lot of ways the landscape of Canadian music is partially shaped by the journalists who choose to dedicate their time to giving it exposure. By promoting and contributing to a healthy media environment for Canadian artists, journalists contribute in their own way to keeping a strong Canadian music identity alive. I’m excited to hopefully be a small part of that contribution over the next few weeks.
