Care to introduce yourself to our readers?

My name is Finnz. I grew up in Hamilton Ontario Canada. I have been introduced to music at a young age through my family of musicians and my uncle’s sheer love for hip hop. Hip hop really grew on me and at a young age, I started beatboxing and slowly moved into freestyling. I fell off music after witnessing a good friend of mine shot dead in front of me. I didn’t know what to do so I turned to drugs. After losing 4 of my close friends to murder I met my baby mother and quit drugs cold turkey the day I met her son. The music I started creating was connecting with people and I never looked back.

Tell us a bit about your music and writing style.

I think my music stands out and is different than most styles. I have that old school flavor mixed with a new age sound. Grizelda records, I have been following “Benny the Butcher” he’s one of my favourite rappers in the game because they keep that old school flow.

Do you have any upcoming shows? For someone who has yet to see you live, how would you explain your live performance?

My live performances are LIT!!! I host, headline, and compose a show every month in my hometown at The Endzone Bar and Grill. Last show we sold out 300 tickets and this month we are aiming for 550. I like to have fun so I do giveaways, throw out merch, give cash prizes, and all that. The Endzone is an open-spaced warehouse-style sports bar so I have my videos playing on the TVs while we perform. I host the biggest independent shows in hamilton and we couldn’t be more proud.

If you were asked to suggest only one of your songs for someone to hear, which would it be?

I think I would choose “Kappin”. I just released an amazing song with a local artist by the name of Karizmatik. It’s true to the heart banger that shows how you don’t have to lie about things to get ahead in life. We sick of people kappin off and this song is a good one to shut ’em up.

Canadian Beats is all about Canadian music, so who are your current favourite Canadian bands/ artists?

When I think of Canada I love The Weekend, his style and voice are on point since his first album, a few other dope artists I listen to a lot is Tory Lanez, Ronny, Drake, Peter Jackson, Julius Wilson, and a few others.
