Toronto, ON-based jazz musician, Micah Barnes has released his first single, “That’s Life”, and will be launching his full-length, Vegas Breeze in the Spring of 2020.
Micah shares,
“When setting out to make the “Vegas Breeze” album I was careful to avoid the overplayed songs from the “Rat Pack” songbook, and sought out material from more diverse “showroom” artists such as Lena Horne, Nat King Cole, Mel Torme & Tony Bennett, a sort of “Alternative Vegas Playlist” if you will! However, as we came close to finishing up the recording I realized the album needed at least one well known Frank Sinatra tune that the public was familiar with and started to try out his signature song “That’s Life” out with the band. Once we put the tempo in overdrive the whole meaning of the song changed and we knew had our swinging “Micah in Vegas” version and the perfect first single to introduce this music to the world! The video for “That’s Life” was a blast to film, (Showgirls! Horn Section!) allowing “Micah The Entertainer” to shine through! Can’t wait for folks to see it!”
