Care to introduce yourself to our readers?
My name is Izael Nzas, I was born in Cuba, now established here in Toronto, Canada since 2014. Quite a few years now completely in love and committed to creating music, even when I decided to start self-taught seriously at the age of 21 years old. From that moment on its been a crazy journey of ups and downs merged with difficulties, constantly transitioning. Here I am now ready to present you my life’s experiences through music.
Tell us a bit about your music and writing style.
The songs are all honest interpretations of mine and life experiences of others. It’s made up on emotions that can’t be controlled And elevate me to places where I feel completely free, owning and honouring any single one of my words, songs, and compositions. I am really in love with the cinematic motion picture music and visuals, and on my videos, I try and give people the full picture. Many of my songs are drama short movie histories made into music. I am not a songwriter, I am a history teller that strive to dive into the musical and lyrical unknown journey, creator mostly of world music. Urban, Latin, Hip-Hop /Rap and more.
Do you have any upcoming shows? For someone who has yet to see you live, how would you explain your live performance?
Not as of yet, but still in the middle of recording, producing videos. I am planning to have my first presentation for this project on January 2020. I have a different approach regarding live performances, being a composer I am able to perform instrumentals like an interlude between songs. Now that my performances won’t be in large venues I want to have the opportunities to get more intimate on my shows and concert attendees will be able to listen, understand and interpret. Great quality music, sound system is a must. I come from a completely different world and I m bringing a combination of African drumming, classical instruments and synthesizers (World Music) that will grab your attention.
If you were asked to suggest only one of your songs for someone to hear, which would it be?
“You” it’s just a screenshot of what I m about. Unique isolated music place where I grew up, that’s why after a few years on it beside studying in a private music college here in Toronto I understood some things. We human have to ways of learning aware and unaware.
Canadian Beats is all about Canadian music, so who are your current favourite Canadian bands/ artists?
Michel Bublé no doubt, and I m Feeling Good… I would be a dream come true to be on a song with him. I believe its gonna be a good one.
