The 2022 JUNOFest is wasting no time in getting the party started in Toronto!
The festivities are officially scheduled to begin on April 21, with the CBC Music JUNOfest: Frequencies Showcase at Lula Lounge; which will feature Global Music Album of the Year nominees, Afrikana Soul Sister, Beny Esguerra and New Tradition Music, Donné Roberts and Moonshine. Meanwhile, on May 6, Supermarket will host the CBC MUSIC JUNOfest: Jazz Showcase; featuring JUNO nominees Amanda Tosoff, Avataar, Caity Gyorgy, Elizabeth Shepherd, Michael Occhipinti (ES:MO), and Jesse Ryan. Tickets for both events are $10, with all proceeds going to MusiCounts.
On to JUNO Week, where organizers have announced the first artists performing across Toronto as part of the culminating JUNO celebrations. CODA on Bathurst will play host to two evenings of EDM; with nominees ATTLAS, Carlo Lio and MC Flipside headlining on May 13, while Korea Town Acid and Sydney Blu headline on May 14. Meanwhile across town, nominees Aqyila, Desirée Dawson & Ceréna will headline at the Garrison on Dundas St. W on May 13.
Finally, it was announced that the celebrated Lee’s Palace on Bloor St. W will host a suite of alternative shows; including a show headlined by Elliott Brood, AHI and Ferraro on May 12, and two shows featuring legendary indie rockers, The Pursuit of Happiness on May 13 and May 14, with Vox Rea joining them on May 14.

After the 2020 and 2021 festivals and ceremonies were scrapped in the wake of first waves of the global COVID-19 pandemic in favour of virtual presentations, the 2022 JUNO Week will take place from May 9th to May 15th, with the culminating broadcast of the 51st annual JUNO Awards returning to a live setting on May 15th from Toronto’s Budweiser Stage. The 2022 JUNO Awards will broadcast live across Canada at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT on CBC TV, CBC Gem, CBC Radio One, CBC Music, CBC Listen, and globally at CBCMusic.ca/junos.
