First off, care to introduce yourself to our readers?
I’m Julianna Jones, a Pop and RnB singer-songwriter currently living in Toronto, Canada. I’m 23 years old and grew up in Brampton, ON. I’ve been doing music for 18 years and started writing when I was 12 years old. I draw from modern and classic influences such as Ariana Grande, Olivia Rodrigo, Dua Lipa, The Beaches & Adele. I always try to be authentic in my writing, with it being from personal experience or friends that have gone through something that is relatable across the globe. I’d like to echo the experiences to fans who are navigating life as new adults.
You just released your newest single, “Just Another Girl”, care to tell us a bit about the songwriter process on this track?
I had written this song in late 2020 from a toxic relationship I was in at the time. Funny enough, I foreshadowed the ENTIRE relationship in this song before it even happened. I sat at my piano and wrote the majority of the song a week before I found out that I was being played. After all the events occurred, I finished off the bridge and sent it over to a friend of mine for some assistance. I waited a really long time before I decided to release this one cause it is a super personal song and experience for me. I also wanted to have the right people to be on the track for this to get the song perfect.
Who has been the biggest influence in your music career thus far?
I would say some of the biggest influences thus far have been Julia Michaels, Ariana Grande, Demi Lovato, and Olivia Rodrigo.
