Brett Kissel premiered a sweet music video for his newest single “Make a Life Not a Living” and it’s exactly what we are searching for at this moment in time.
“Make a Life Not a Living” hit YouTube on March 19 and it is phenomenal. This song and video represent what, I believe, we all want in life … to have that wonderful connection with our families that includes the love we have for them and how remarkable life can be because of it! Or on the other hand, we already have that with our families and this video is just a brilliant update of that connection and love that we so cherish. Of the 23 videos that Kissel has made, this is the first one that has his entire family starring in it and that’s another reason why this video is so special.
Says Kissel on the making of this video,
“Making this video, on a farm together with my family, was such a wonderful experience for all of us. Being on the farm, on the tractor and in an old pick-up truck is what life is for me … it’s where we all feel the most at home. Being able to live the lyrics in the song was perfect. It’s truly about the little things and being grateful for what you have and who you have around you. I hope that when people see the video, they can think about what those truly special things are for them, and live their best life the same way.”
What is Kissel’s music video about for him? This is what he quotes:
“I ain’t a doctor. But I swear, going outside, being in nature, slowing down and simplifying things can really do wonders for a person’s mental health.”
Also about this heartwarming video, you can see the love that Brett Kissel and his wife, Cecilia, have for one another, his three children are just adorable and the ending is very unexpected!
On his current single itself, “Make a Life, Not a Living” set history earlier this month upon its release, picking up the most adds ever in a single week at Canadian country radio. It’s also the first song released from Kissel’s fifth major-label studio album What Is Life? which will be released on April 9. You can pre-save/add the album here.
