Louis-Étienne Santais presents his first solo piano project

Known as a half of the Fjord duo and as an integral part of Ghostly Kisses, Louis-Étienne Santais, is taking the great leap forward and presenting his solo piano compositions for the very first time. To mark the occasion, the Quebec City composer and producer chose to reveal the piece “Augustines” accompanied by an intimate and touching live session. It’s a compelling introduction that perfectly sets the stage for his debut album, expected this fall via Coyote Records.

The piece was ultimately meant for a musical analogy to those who spend their life helping other people in any way they can.  “Strangely, ”says Santais, “ and while not being religious at all, I couldn’t help but conjure up the image of an “Augustinian sister’s” daily life (when they used to take care of patients in Quebec City or teach) while I was composing the song.

After garnering success and over 60m streams with his  Indie Pop projects Fjord and Ghostly Kisses, Louis-Étienne Santais is now unveiling his solo piano compositions for the first time. This self-taught artist skillfully combines classical music with modern pop minimalism. His songs, inspired by Nils Frahm, Jean-Michel Blais and Olafur Arnalds among others, are full of spontaneity and sensitivity.
