Toronto’s iconic indie-rock genealogy came full circle at the RBC Amphitheatre on August 7, 2026. Bringing together Stars, Broken Social Scene, and Metric, the all-Canadian bill felt like a massive family reunion, given that every band on the lineup shares deep, overlapping roots within the Broken Social Scene collective.
Montreal’s Stars kicked off the evening with lush, emotional pop, setting a high bar early.
Broken Social Scene followed, taking the stage as a expansive, rotating ensemble that delivered their signature wall-of-sound energy to a roaring crowd.
Closing out the night, Metric delivered a razor-sharp, arena-ready headlining set that kept the audience locked in from the opening note.
Despite hometown legends Rush drawing massive crowds across town at Scotiabank Arena the same evening, Toronto music fans packed the amphitheatre seemingly to capacity, proving the enduring pull of the city’s defining indie-era heavyweights.
