JOHN LEGEND
NOVEMBER 14th, 2025
PLACE BELL, LAVAL, QC
John Legend rolled into Place Bell on Friday night with charm levels set to dangerously high and production levels set to, well… minimal. Let’s just say there were enough empty seats to start a small municipal census, but honestly? The people who did show up were more than enough to keep the energy alive.

Legend didn’t come alone—he brought a fantastic band and backup singers who were so tight they could’ve kept time with a whisper. And John? Oh, he was in full sweet-talker mode. At one point he declared, “You’re my dream coming true, Montreal,” and you could practically hear every lady in the building turn into warm fondue. He also reassured us that “we are his number 1,” and frankly, we believed him. The man is a smooth operator.

The show doubled as a history lesson in all things John Legend, a guided tour through 20 years of Get Lifted. It was like a musical TED Talk, except with fewer graphs and more swooning.
The highlight of the night—no contest—was Legend alone at the piano performing “Ordinary People.” No band, no bells, no whistles… just him, his piano, and an arena full of people pretending they weren’t crying.

And just when we thought it couldn’t get any better, he closed the night with a spectacular rendition of “All of Me.”Honestly, that one song alone was worth the price of admission. (Which, judging by the empty seats, may have scared off a few wallets.)

Overall? A great performance by a hell of a singer. If anything, the room might’ve been a bit too big—or the tickets a bit too pricey—but John Legend proved once again why he’s still one of the smoothest, classiest performers out there.
