Norasea’s Forager EP Transports Listeners Through Sound and Nature with Lead Track “Control,” Setting the Tone
Vancouver Island-based electronic duo Norasea unveil their latest sonic offering with Forager – a lush, immersive EP inspired by the natural world and the emotional power of sound. Melding chilled-out atmospheres with intricate sound design, Forager showcases Norasea’s evolution as artists and storytellers, blending deep bass, organic textures, and evocative vocals into something beautifully transportive.
“This EP reflects our relationship with the natural world and its influence on our creative process,” Norasea elaborates. “We’ve been falling more and more in love with sound design and telling a story with each track.”
The EP’s focus track, “Control,” captures that storytelling instinct in full. Born from late nights at Shambhala’s legendary Grove stage, the track pulses with moody serenity, evoking sunsets, river dancing, and the feeling of being lost – and found – in the music. “It’s about allowing the experience to take control,” explains the duo. “Letting go and feeling truly present in that moment.”Â
Created entirely remotely between Vancouver and Calgary, “Control” marks a creative milestone for the duo, completed without ever sharing a studio.
From the haunting melodies of “Anya” to the cinematic layers of “Old Man’s Beard,” Forager represents a coming-of-age for Norasea – a culmination of years spent searching for a sound that feels both personal and expansive.
“We wanted to create music we’d want to listen to in our free time,” they say. “There aren’t many lyrical tracks that focus this deeply on sound design and bass.”
Norasea formed out of a shared passion for sonic exploration and has quickly become one of the most intriguing acts in the B.C. electronic scene. With genre influences spanning lo-fi, dubstep, jazz, and psychedelic rock, the duo’s sound has earned them a dedicated fan base and a spot as finalists in the Vancouver Island DJ Competition.
