Indie heavy rock band HIGHFRONT release their new single, “The Singularity”
On August 9, Ottawa Valley-based heavy rock band, HIGHFRONT shares their brand new single, “The Singularity.”
This powerful track follows closely on the heels of their album Sundown At Sally’s, pushing the boundaries of their heavy sound with intricate time changes and punchy, explosive breakdowns.
“The Singularity” was recorded live off the floor, a deliberate choice by HIGHFRONT to capture the raw energy and dynamic presence that define their live performances. The result is a song that starts with a mysterious ambiance before erupting into a driving, heavy groove.
“We wanted to bring the intensity and unpredictability of our live shows into the studio with this song,” says guitarist and vocalist Adam Loback. “There’s something magical about the raw, unfiltered energy of a live performance, and we aimed to bottle that with ‘The Singularity.'”
Drummer Corey Zadorozny adds,
“Recording live off the floor was a challenging but rewarding experience. It pushed us to be at our best, and I think listeners will feel that immediacy and connection in the track.”
Bassist Jason Desmarais reflects on the band’s evolution,
“With ‘The Singularity,’ we’ve really expanded our sound. The intricate time changes and heavy breakdowns are something new for us, and we’re excited for people to hear it.”
HIGHFRONT approached this song with the intent of evolving their sound and
pushing the limits of what they could create. It’s raw it’s gritty and carries a blend
of the musicianship that each member brings to the band.
