A newly formed alternative house Canadian duo, Noctuse is composed of Toronto-based producer, NPC groove, and Brampton-based alternative music artist, Naol, has released their debut single entitled “nightrip” under the moniker, Noctuse. Inspired by dark, electronic soundscapes that revolve around the late-night driving experience, their debut single emanates these notions into a song that must be played during a “nightrip.”
“Our plan was to create a song dedicated to each aspect of a road trip. For this single, the idea was to evoke an experience or tune for people to listen to late at night while driving. The way we structured the lyrics specifically for this single is kind of like a puzzle that you have to piece up. Think of it like you’re tripping at night due to tiredness from driving late and you’re all over the place, but you keep hearing the repetitive nature of the beat such as the kick that keeps you going or the repeated vocals that brings forth familiarity and comfort. It’s an altering experience. We believe “nightrip” was an interesting project we loved working on and we hope to continue to make tracks like this for people of the night.”
