ZACH’S PICKS OF THE WEEK – FEBRUARY 5 TO FEBRUARY 10, 2024

Find Out Zach Coopz’s Top Picks For The Week

Have you heard the good word, my friends? The good word, of Zach’s Picks Of The Week! Luckily, you’ve tuned in to Canadian Beats for my top recommended articles of the week. Otherwise, you might have to listen to the same old music as before and I know that’s not what you want. But for those who haven’t been here before, I have hand-picked my favourite articles that were posted on this website. I then mix them up into my top six articles, which include one bonus recommendation from around the world. I will feature a clip in this video coming up down below, but the links to each article are just in the post you’re reading here. So without further ado, let’s get right into all of this brand-new music we’ve got on Zach’s Picks Of The Week.

Five

Starting off our list will be Niagara-based artist, René Huard. He’s a multi-talented veteran within the Canadian roots scene. But as of lately, René has unveiled his latest offering, “Blues Calling”. The 12-track record is available everywhere and showcases his powerful songwriting, vocalist, guitarist, and harmonica skills. All of the incredible songs are available to be heard in our Five Questions With segment with the very talented René Huard, here.

Four

Moving along down our incredible list will bring us to a dynamic, highly entertaining rock and roll band from Toronto, Jet Puppy. They have proudly announced the release of their debut single, “Shake, Rattle and Roll” across all streaming sites. The new single is just bursting with energy, and positive vibes, and showcases how much fun making music can be. The band’s commitment to preserving the joy and timeless sound of North American popular music is evident in this track. Go on and have a listen to “Shake, Rattle and Roll” in our interview article with Jet Puppy right through here.

Three

Coming up right now on our list will be an emerging country recording artist by the name of Peter Vance. Who’s just released his sophomore new single, “This Side of the Blue” across all your favourite streaming sites. It’s an upbeat track that is rich with vivid storytelling and showcases Vance’s distinctive country-rock style. Be sure to go check out our article for the new single from St. John’s very own, Peter Vance right through here to the article here.

Two

This week’s runner-up for the top spot will be the Calgary-based rock band, Waterfront. Their brand new five-track EP, Sleep In The Cold is out now via Affiant Records. The new EP features two previously released singles, including “I Wanna Run” featuring Gutter King and “Keeping You Alive.” But of course, both can be heard within our EP review for Sleep In The Cold. My personal favourite is the last track called “Atmosphere”, but you can listen to it for yourself right here.

BONUS: Canadian Beats Passport

Now it’s time for my international bonus recommendation feature this week as our Canadian Beats Passport. The streets of Shipley in the United Kingdom, are about to be electrified with the fresh, gritty sound from Least We Got Shoes‘ latest single, “Don’t Go.” It’s a standout track from their upcoming album, embodying their unique ‘boxcar rock’ style. Be sure to go and check out more in our in-depth Five Questions With segment with Least We Got Shoes and their new single right here.

One

We have now reached my final recommendation for this list of incredible new music, so let me introduce you to Hamilton’s KYTLY. To some people, relationships these days can seem plastic and synthetic. But her new rock-meets-lofi single is called “Modern Life” and you can find it across all your favourite streaming platforms now. Plus it’s available in our article just right through here.

So those are going to be my top recommendations from our website this week. Otherwise known as, Zach’s Picks Of The Week.  So be sure to go and check out all of these amazing artists that are linked in this post. Let me know if you enjoy them as well. You can also go explore the rest of our website, which is chalk full of the best new Canadian and international content on the Internet in my opinion. So be sure to go and check it out but that’s it for now. I will see you all hopefully next week with a brand new list of incredible music. But always spread your love and positivity around the world today. And to everybody else, PEACE, LOVE, AND GOOD MUSIC!
