Kenny Jeon Releases New EP, It Would Be Nice To Fall In Love
Calgary, AB-based singer-songwriter Kenny Jeon unveiled his EP, It Would Be Nice To Fall In Love, on December 18, 2023.
The project gives listeners the chance to hear Kenny’s vocal talent along with his beautiful guitar melodies. With five songs and a run time of less than 15 minutes, this EP will leave wanting more.

“This EP is a chance for me to explore different genres and work with different emotions. It means a lot to me because some of the first songs I’ve written in Korean are on this project.”
First off, care to introduce yourself to our readers?
Hello! My name is Kenny Jeon, and I am a 23-year-old aspiring singer-songwriter from Calgary, Alberta. Currently I am at the University of Calgary studying Software Engineering, and looking to graduate in 2024! My favourite artist is John Mayer, and a fun fact about me is that I am a bit of a watch geek.
Tell us a bit about your most recent release.
So, my most recent release is a 5 song EP called, It Would Be Nice To Fall In Love, with the theme of the project being writing love songs due to the writer longing for and idealizing love. To me, this is a chance to expand upon my sound in terms of style and genre, stepping away from the singer songwriter style of music and towards other influences of mine, like Jazz, R&B, and K-R&B.
Do you have any upcoming shows you’d like to tell us about?
Yes! My band and I have a show in the new year on January 12th at Whiskey Rose in Calgary. Our band is called Slow Responders, come check us out.
If given the chance, which Canadian artist would you love to work with in the future?
I would have to say, Michael Bublé. I’ve always loved his voice, and his music and he has definitely influenced my musical taste and stylings. I’ve always enjoyed singing in the crooner style and would leap at the chance to tackle a song from the Great American Songbook with him.
What’s your goal for 2024?
My goal for 2024 is to continue to improve and sharpen my skills, as well as improve my musical knowledge, so that I can take elements from many different styles of music and add them to my sound.
