Ezi Margolis Shares His Debut Single, “Queen of Hearts”

Winnipeg’s Ezi Margolis is thrilled to announce his debut single, “Queen of Hearts,” from his upcoming EP, dropping in early 2024.

His early twenties were full of fantastic experiences on stage at places like America’s Got Talent in Orlando and the Winnipeg Folk Festival. After success touring the Red Hot Chili Peppers around his hometown, frontmanning as Anthony Kiedis, he is ready to sit down, catch his breath, and captivate the crowd. Influenced by Jack Johnson, Bahamas, and the Bare Naked Ladies to name a couple, the CDs that rotated in Pops’ Chrysler wrote his early chapters.

Review

Right out of the gate, “Queen of Hearts” commands your full attention, kicking off with a compelling counting intro, “One, two, three, four.”

The lyrics vividly sketch a romantic encounter with a woman, showering praise on her natural beauty, encapsulated in the line “I think you look better, When you take everything off.”

The repeated line, “Now my vision is clear, now that you’re here,” captures how the woman’s presence brings profound clarity and purpose to the artist’s life—a timeless theme in love songs.

The chorus is a magnetic refrain all about wanting to be with that special someone and embarking on exciting adventures together, with the woman as the cherished “queen of hearts” and the artist as her dedicated “rocket ship to the stars.”

Overall, the song’s lyrics exude an air of whimsical delight, infusing it with a delightful cocktail of romance and aspiration.

Care to introduce yourself to our readers?

Hello! My name is Ezi. I am very excited to finally put out my debut single. Listen to my tune Queen of Hearts today! It would mean a lot to me.

Tell us a bit about your most recent release.

My first single is a certified hit. Carefully crafted in a cold basement over the pandemic, “Queen of Hearts” has been waiting very patiently to let loose into this crazy world.

Where do you tend to pull inspiration from when writing?

I truly believe it’s all subconscious. My inspiration comes from everything I have heard, seen, felt, tasted, smelled, and been a part of in my 29-year lifetime.

Do you have any upcoming shows you’d like to tell us about?

I’m gearing up for the 2024 summer festival season as Manitoba knows how to do festivals justice. Oh, and I’m pretty sure I’ll be doing the Super Bowl halftime in 2030.

What’s your goal for 2023?

I want people to hear my music. That’s all. Small steps.
